Children and adults in Coventry are busy raising funds to support the future of their inspirational basketball Club, Tornadoes.

They have been challenged by Head Coach Paul Adams, or Tall Paul as he is often known, to take part in a sponsored ‘Dribble a thon’. Each participant will “dribble” a ball up and down the basketball for 90 laps, to reach their 3 mile target.

The challenge will take place at regular training sessions throughout May and the final half mile (15 laps) will be completed at an exciting exhibition game of Tornadoes Men’s National League team versus Warwickshire Hawks which takes place on Sunday 22nd May 2016 at Coventry Sports Centre with a 2pm start time.

Paul Adams said, “This is an exciting opportunity for the whole Club to come together to fundraise for our future. We are a local Club which provides opportunities for local people from age 5 to adult and we want to ensure that we continue to grow.”

He continued, “It is also an amazing opportunity for participants to be recognised at the exhibition game, which will showcase the Club to a wider audience. We are excited to be hosting the game and welcome Warwickshire Hawks as our opponents on the day”

Tornadoes Basketball Club, is part of the charity YMCA Coventry & Warwickshire and as such is not for profit. The Club’s astounding growth in recent years, now with over 200 members, has resulted in a need to raise additional funds to continue to provide the high-quality basketball coaching, basketball camps and personal development opportunities for the local people who are members.
