Youth Work Co-ordinator with Training

Full time (37.5 hours p/w) – £24,000pa – includes working evenings and weekends

Fixed term contract until March 2020 (funded by Big Lottery/DCMS)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and inspiring Youth Work Co-ordinator to develop high quality youth work and training in specified areas of Coventry.  Candidates will have the ability to lead and motivate teams, whilst ensuring they are delivering at their very best.  The role will require the post holder to develop and deliver young leader training and initial youth work training to create a cycle where young people can move from being receivers of service to participants and become role models for others.

With a proven track record in youth work, the successful candidate will be organised and determined to ensure excellent services are delivered, whilst building a rapport with local businesses to contribute to the project running costs to ensure continuous running of the project.

As the role may present some challenges to staff and young people, you will have knowledge of carrying out appropriate risk assessments and resolving issues as they arise and where necessary reporting concerns around safeguarding in a timely manner.

To succeed in the role, you will not only have a passion for working with young people, but be dedicated and proactive in sourcing suitable sessions and be willing to work at different locations to help build effective and meaningful relationships with young people. Effective communication skills are essential to encourage young people to take part in sessions.

The position is initially fixed until March 2020, with the expectation that together with the wider YMCA team continuation of funding will be obtained.
