Working with schools

YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire offers a range of innovative and flexible programmes to meet the needs of local schools and colleges. Our aim is to work in partnership with schools across Coventry and Warwickshire for the benefit of young people, to compliment existing educational experiences and to help bridge gaps in levels of achievement.

Our schools programme can be delivered as whole class workshops, group sessions, one to one, off site workshops, away days or as teacher and family support. Our person-centred approach ensures that we can offer the right level of delivery dependent on the age, gender and learning ability of the young people involved. The content is tailored to meet the needs of both the young person and the school. We are passionate about enabling and challenging young people on topics that are relevant to them and focused on promoting personal development and raising awareness and cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Character and Leadership Development
  • Drugs
  • Relationships
  • Bullying
  • Budgeting
  • Mental Health

Within our schools programme, we also have qualified and experienced sports coaches delivering curriculum PE lessons as well as extra-curricular clubs including archery, basketball, handball, multi-sport, and fitness.
